Renovation Update
In order to improve handicapped accessibility, meet fire code safety, waterproof the basement, and add central heating and air conditioning to the Library, the Canton Township Carnegie Library Board and the Canton Township Trustees are initiating a campaign for an addition to the east side of the Library building. This modest addition will preserve our community’s historic treasure and help ensure that we have library services for many years to come.
There are many facets to this project and we will try our best to keep everyone informed as to our progress. As of today, we are working with Clark Architects out of McPherson to develop a workable plan that meets our budget and appropriately honors the Carnegie style of our building. The Board has approved the services of Chad Clark, CAC Consulting, to assist in fundraising.
We will be speaking to groups and individuals to talk about our great library, the many services it offers to our community, and the needs it has. If you would like to host a group of friends to learn more about the project, please contact the library, 620-628-4349, Kim Witt, 620-628-4492, or Sandra Dresher 620-242-4763
We also need ideas for simple fundraisers. If you have an idea, share it! The best ideas come locally! We’d love to hear from you!
